About The Position

This is a travel Cardiovascular Technologist position in Marysville, CA. The role involves facilitating physician performance of invasive, therapeutic, and diagnostic cardiovascular procedures in a Short Term Acute Care Hospital setting. The technologist will handle instruments, supplies, and equipment, maintain the sterile field, and ensure patient safety. Responsibilities include setting up sterile tables, anticipating surgeon's needs, performing counts, preparing dressings, verifying procedures, assisting with room turnover, documenting procedures, and maintaining equipment and supplies. Upholding safety, infection control, and EPIC documentation practices is essential.

Requirements

  • Associate Degree or Certificate of Program Completion in Surgical Technology
  • At least two years of recent experience in the field
  • EPIC electronic health record experience required
  • Current nursing license per the state of assignment
  • Ability to work in a Short Term Acute Care Hospital environment

Nice To Haves

  • National Board of Surgical Technologists or Association of Surgical Technologists certified (preferred)
  • CPR certification or Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from an approved vendor (preferred)
  • Heart/cardiovascular experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate physician performance of invasive, therapeutic, and diagnostic cardiovascular procedures; handle instruments, supplies, and equipment during procedures; maintain the sterile field and patient safety.
  • Set up the sterile table with instruments, supplies, equipment, and medications/solutions; assist in draping and maintaining the sterile field; pass instruments to the surgeon as needed.
  • Anticipate surgeon’s needs, perform appropriate counts with the circulator prior to incision and before closure, and prepare sterile dressings for application and secure dressings after incision.
  • Verify procedures and ensure appropriate supplies and equipment are available; obtain sterile and non-sterile items needed for the procedure; assist in room turnover and prepare the room for the next patient.
  • Assist other team members as assigned; document procedures and pertinent information in the patient record per policy; maintain equipment and supplies to support efficient workflow.
  • Uphold established safety, infection control, and EPIC documentation practices throughout the assignment.
