About The Position

This role assists in the acquisition of data by performing EKG and applying holter/event monitors independently. This includes explaining the test, applying electrodes using accepted techniques and placement. The technician also assists with stress echo and nuclear stress testing under the direct supervision of a nurse. Proper billing for completed procedures is also a responsibility. Additional duties include performing other tasks as assigned, complying with all policies and standards, and adhering to departmental documentation. A critical aspect of the role is abiding by all requirements to safely and securely maintain Protected Health Information (PHI) for patients, with annual training, the UH Code of Conduct, and UH policies and procedures in place to address the appropriate use of PHI.

Requirements

  • High School Equivalent / GED (Required)
  • Strong communication, problem-solving, team work and interpersonal skills (Required proficiency)
  • Performs EKGs; (Required proficiency)
  • basic computer skills and vital signs; (Required proficiency)
  • manual blood pressures (Required proficiency)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) (Required)

Nice To Haves

  • 1+ years Of experience as a MA, PCA, CTA or clinical partner in a cardiology setting (Preferred)

Responsibilities
