About The Position
We are seeking a Physician Assistant specializing in Cardiovascular/Cardiothoracic Surgery for a locum tenens position in Torrance, CA. This role involves both inpatient and outpatient services, including clinical duties and on-call responsibilities. The coverage period is from July 13, 2026, and ongoing. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM, with weeknight and weekend beeper call. The reason for coverage is a vacancy during a long-term permanent search. Travel, lodging, and malpractice insurance are covered by the agency.
Requirements
- Board Certified (BC) Required
- Active CA license
- DEA required
- BLS certification
- ACLS certification
- Proficiency in Epic EMR
- Experience in team-based care
Nice To Haves
- Minimum 2 years in cardiovascular/cardiothoracic surgery preferred
Responsibilities
- Round on post-operative inpatients
- First assist in cardiovascular/cardiothoracic surgeries
- See patients in clinic for pre-operative and post-operative care
- Interpret EKGs, X-rays, and lab results
- Manage ECMO, IABP, and Impella devices as needed
