About The Position
This is an ongoing coverage need for a Cardiothoracic Surgery Physician Assistant (PA) at a Level I trauma center with a 336-bed facility. The role involves vascular clinic and floor call for cardiac, vascular, and thoracic patients. The position is full-time and requires credentialing, which typically takes 90 days. The patient population includes adults and geriatrics, and the EMR system used is Cerner. This is an independent contractor (1099) role.
Requirements
- Active Montana licensure
- Board certification
- AHA BLS and ACLS certifications
- Minimum 1-year Cardiothoracic Surgery experience or equivalent
- Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies (MPAS) degree from an accredited program
- Active and unencunbered physician assistant (PA) license in Montana
- National certification from the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA)
- At least one year of experience in a clinical setting relevant to their specialty
Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive patient assessments to diagnose and treat a variety of medical conditions
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans
- Order and interpret diagnostic tests
- Prescribe medications and manage chronic conditions
- Provide patient education and counseling on healthy lifestyle choices
- Perform procedures as permitted by state regulations and APP specialty
- Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare providers to ensure coordinated care
- Document patient care accurately and thoroughly
