About The Position

As an Advanced Practice Provider (APP) in Cardiothoracic (CT) Surgery, you will work with 2 CT Surgeons and 2 other APPs to provide top-notch care and patient experience. You will collaborate with Cardiologists in both an inpatient and outpatient setting. This role practices at our CT Surgery clinic and Intermountain Lutheran Hospital in Wheat Ridge, CO. The schedule is rotating, including 24-hour call coverage and weekend rounding. There will be occasional call and rounding at St. Joseph Hospital, a sister facility in Denver. The role includes first assisting in cardiac/thoracic surgeries with a minimal vascular case load, including dialysis access. On average, there will be one case per day. Proficiency in endoscopic vein harvesting is a must. Responsibilities include placing foley catheters and invasive lines, ICU/telemetry rounding, discharges, first assist coverage for all cases, and clinic coverage for post-op patients.

Requirements

Graduate from an accredited Physician assistant or Nurse Practitioner program
Licensed as PA or NP in the state of CO or able to obtain
DEA and full prescriptive authority in CO
Minimum of 2 years as a First Assist PA or NP in a CT Surgery setting
Minimum of 1 year experience with proficiency in endoscopic vein harvesting for bypass procedures
