About The Position

We are seeking a Cardiothoracic Surgeon for a Locum Tenens position in Springfield, MO. This role involves both inpatient and outpatient services, providing clinical coverage and on-call duties. The coverage period is from September 28, 2026, ongoing. The surgeon will manage a mix of cardiothoracic surgeries, including CABG and valve procedures, with an average daily patient volume of 15. The facility utilizes the Epic EMR system and is supported by RNs and MAs. Hospital privileges are required, with temporary privileges available.

Requirements

• Board Certified
• Universal License (IMLC) or Missouri license
• BLS, ACLS
• Minimum 1-2 years experience required
• Vein harvesting, first assist
• Experience with chest tubes, central, arterial, and PICC lines preferred

Responsibilities

• Provide call coverage and perform procedures in Cath Lab.
• Cover clinic sessions Tues-Thurs (8A-4:30P), seeing 8-10 patients per day.
• Perform vein harvesting and first assist in cardiothoracic surgeries.
• Manage and care for central, arterial, and PICC lines as needed.
• Provide overnight call coverage, including patient consults and OR assistance.
