About The Position
St. Clare’s Hospital is seeking a highly skilled Cardiothoracic Surgeon to join an established and expanding regional cardiovascular program across multiple Northern New Jersey campuses within Prime Healthcare. This position offers the opportunity to practice a balanced mix of cardiac and thoracic surgery with access to advanced surgical technology, including the Da Vinci Xi robotic surgical platform. The ideal candidate will possess strong experience in both cardiac and thoracic surgical procedures, with robotic and minimally invasive surgical skills preferred. The incoming physician will serve as a valued member of the cardiothoracic surgery team and collaborate closely with multidisciplinary cardiovascular specialists throughout the system. The program focuses on continued cardiovascular growth, advanced technology adoption, and high-quality patient-centered care.
Requirements
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Cardiothoracic Surgery
- Fellowship training in Cardiothoracic Surgery required
- Eligible for unrestricted New Jersey medical license
- Strong interpersonal, leadership, and communication skills
Nice To Haves
- Experience in both cardiac and thoracic surgery strongly preferred
- Experience with robotic surgery and the Da Vinci Xi platform preferred
Responsibilities
- Perform a broad spectrum of cardiothoracic surgical procedures including: Coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG), Valve repair and replacement, Thoracic oncology procedures, Minimally invasive and robotic thoracic surgery
- Emergency cardiothoracic surgical coverage
- Participate in shared hospital and cardiothoracic call coverage
- Provide inpatient and outpatient surgical management
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across closely located hospital campuses
- Participate in quality improvement, clinical outcomes, and service line growth initiatives
- Maintain accurate and timely medical documentation activities in compliance with hospital and regulatory standards
- Participate in medical staff committees and physician leadership
