About The Position

The Cardiopulmonary Assistant in the Respiratory Therapy Department, under the direction of a licensed respiratory care practitioner, will provide support for respiratory care services for the treatment of patients with disordered respiratory physiology. This role involves performing delegated tasks in the clinical setting as assigned by the respiratory care practitioner. In the cardiology department, the Cardiopulmonary Assistant is responsible for performing and processing cardiographic testing modalities, including EKG, heart monitor setup, and stress testing. The position requires adherence to all hospital policies and interaction with staff from all hospital areas.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent (G.E.D.) preferred.
  • BLS required prior to first clinical shift (must be issued by the American Heart Association).

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in a healthcare setting for 6 months.
  • Specialized training in a cardiopulmonary program.
  • PATH program training.
