Requirements

• High School Degree
• May need to start IV’s
• Up to 1 year experience in a related field

Responsibilities

• Perform graded exercise tests and nuclear stress tests under the supervision of the staff R.N.
• Assist patients in preparing for tests, including applying electrodes and taking vital signs.
• Monitor patients during exercise and notify the R.N. of any abnormalities in heart rhythm.
• Apply Holter monitors.
• Assist with daily paperwork for the testing department.
• Demonstrate Service Excellence and strong interpersonal skills.
• Be cognizant of cardiac abnormalities.
• Perform EKGs.
• Demonstrate clinical competency.
• Explain procedures, properly apply electrodes, watch the monitor during exercise and be aware of any cardiac abnormalities.
• Prepare and clean rooms.
• Demonstrate Service Excellence values to all customers.
• Be kind, helpful, and courteous to patients.
• Display teamwork efforts with other staff and demonstrate flexibility.
• Help ensure proper testing.
• Help patients get started on time and minimize delays if possible.
• Make the bed and stock supplies.
• May also perform EKG's, apply Holters, etc.
• Perform proper protocol.
• Charge and file as needed.
• May assist in other cardiology duties.
• Recognize emergency situations and act appropriately.
• Stay current with cardiology trends.
