About The Position
Performs procedures for recording electromotive variations in a patient's heart muscle using an electrocardiograph (EKG) to provide data for diagnosis. Demonstrates Decatur Morgan Hospital’s mission, vision, and values through behavior.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- BLS certified.
Nice To Haves
- 1-2 years experience preferred.
Responsibilities
- Performs cardiology diagnostic testing to include: electrocardiograms, holter monitors, event monitors, ambulatory blood pressure monitors, and/or graded exercise tests.
- Manages and operates equipment safely and correctly. Inspects cardiology equipment to ensure it is functioning correctly. Reports all malfunctions.
- Consults with physicians as required regarding collection of test data and critical test results.
- Processes test in the MUSE system, and manages the distribution of EKG interpretations. Ensure charges for procedures are complete and accurate.
- Collaborates with other members of the healthcare team concerning interventions, discharge needs and patient education.
- Completes other duties or task as assigned.
