Cardiologist
About The Position
Join a team of board-certified cardiologists, advanced practice providers (APPs), and support staff in Buffalo, NY. The Cardiologist works in partnership with hospital service lines, including critical care, primary care, the hospitalist group, the emergency department, and diagnostic cardiac catheterization. The role provides inpatient coverage and call, outpatient evaluation and management (E&M), and cardiac testing services. Testing may include EKG, echocardiography, stress testing, and other services as agreed upon. Cardiac CT reading is available, and training can be arranged. The Cardiologist communicates recommendations to attending providers and cardiac health goals to patients and families, participates in interdisciplinary care, educates and precepts learners, and contributes to quality improvement and educational initiatives.
Requirements
- MD, DO, or equivalent.
- Clear and active state medical license.
Nice To Haves
- Board-certified or board-eligible by the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM), Cardiovascular Disease preferred.
- Experienced candidate preferred.
Responsibilities
- Provide inpatient coverage and call.
- Provide outpatient evaluation and management and cardiac testing services, including EKG, echocardiography, stress testing, and other agreed-upon tests.
- Provide weekday and weekend call coverage.
- Read cardiac CT scans when applicable; training can be arranged.
- Communicate recommendations effectively to attending providers.
- Clearly communicate cardiac health goals to patients and their families.
- Participate in an interdisciplinary model of care.
- Educate and precept advanced practice providers, medical students, fellows, and students rotating on the care service.
- Assist with quality improvement and educational initiatives as needed.
