About The Position

A locum tenens Cardiologist is needed to provide inpatient cardiology coverage at a facility in Richland, Washington. Coverage includes clinical duties and call, with a schedule of 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., seven days on and seven days off. Night call is from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m., by beeper, with a 20-minute response time. Coverage begins December 1, 2026, and is ongoing, with specified dates of December 1–13, 2026, and December 28, 2026–January 3, 2027, followed by ongoing coverage in 2027.

The physician will see an average of 5–10 patients per day and round both independently and with others. Phone consultations are part of the work. The case mix includes cardiology, ICU, and non-invasive services. The facility uses EPIC and has support from three APPs. Hospital privileges are not required, and temporary privileges are not available.

Requirements

• Board certification (BC).
• A Washington license or IMLC eligibility/license.
• DEA registration.
• BLS certification.
• ACLS certification.
• Ability to provide the required inpatient cardiology, ICU, non-invasive, echocardiography, TEE, and nuclear cardiology services.

• Cardiology fellowship preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide inpatient cardiology coverage, including rounding on hospitalized patients.
• Manage ICU patients with cardiac conditions.
• Perform non-invasive cardiac procedures, including echocardiography and transesophageal echocardiography (TEE).
• Interpret nuclear cardiology studies, including Cardiolyte and thallium studies.
• Take night call and respond to emergencies within 20 minutes.
• Provide phone consultations.
