About The Position

Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center is seeking a Cardiologist to join our Department of Internal Medicine as a faculty member to provide outpatient and inpatient care while providing support to our Cardiology Fellowship. Our program offers comprehensive exposure to the full continuum of cardiovascular care while serving a rapidly growing diverse patient population.

Requirements

• MD/DO or equivalent
• Completion of an ACGME accredited Internal Medicine Residency
• Completion of, or in the process of completing, a Cardiology Fellowship
• Ability to obtain a Texas Medical License

Responsibilities

• Conducts outpatient and inpatient cardiovascular evaluation, inclusive of medical histories and exams
• Orders, performs and interprets non-invasive tests like stress tests, echo and EKGs
• Outlines preventive care plans and evidence-based treatment for cardiovascular conditions
• Monitors patient progress to manage cardiovascular risk factors and manage medications
• Works as part of a multidisciplinary care team with other healthcare professionals
• Documents all services in patient medical record
• Participates in quality improvement and other patient care programs
• Adheres to institutional and departmental policies and procedures
• Participate in bedside teaching and lectures for fellows, residents and medical students
