About The Position

Join the collegial cardiovascular service in a clinic- and hospital-based practice with the established Cardiothoracic Surgery team at Oregon Heart and Vascular Institute (OHVI), located at PeaceHealth Sacred Heart RiverBend in the Eugene/Springfield, Oregon community. The service includes three Cardiothoracic Surgeons, three Vascular Surgeons, 19 cardiologists, and four Physician Assistants dedicated to Cardiothoracic Surgery. The PAs first-assist in the CVOR, see follow-up patients in clinic, and support inpatient care in the ICU and cardiothoracic surgery ward. The program performs more than 400 cardiac cases and 200 thoracic cases annually. Resources include three hospital-employed certified Perfusionists, cardiovascular anesthesiologists who are all TEE certified, short-term mechanical circulatory support capability including Impella and Impella RP, and a four-room dedicated Cardiothoracic surgery suite with an integrated Hybrid OR. An additional Hybrid OR is planned. The institute has six DaVinci surgical robots (Xi and DV5) and is in the process of acquiring a Single Port system. The program also has three EPS physicians and a growing arrhythmia surgery program. The position is based in the Eugene/Springfield area of Oregon's Willamette Valley, a community offering vineyards, outdoor recreation, education, sports, and cultural opportunities. PeaceHealth Sacred Heart Medical Center at RiverBend is a 384-bed state-of-the-art medical facility and Level II trauma center.

Responsibilities

Provide cardiothoracic surgical care in a clinic- and hospital-based practice.
Participate in a Cardiothoracic Surgery service that performs cardiac and thoracic cases.
Work with Physician Assistants who first-assist in the CVOR, provide clinic follow-up, and support inpatient care in the ICU and cardiothoracic surgery ward.
