About The Position

This is a full-time position in the Inpatient Unit of Aurora St. Lukes Medical Center, specifically on the 10 South Angioplasty floor. The role involves assisting Registered Nurses (RNs) with daily patient care, performing advanced care tasks independently, and monitoring patient status. The technician will also be responsible for accurate documentation in the electronic medical record and assisting with various patient transitions such as admissions and discharges.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • CNA (WI registry)
  • 1-2 years of CNA experience in the acute setting.

Nice To Haves

  • Completion of telemetry education and competency within 6 months of hire.
  • Completion of unit-based clinical training for interventional procedures within 6 months of hire.

Responsibilities

  • Assist RNs with daily patient care including hygiene, repositioning, ambulation, feeding, and general cleaning.
  • Perform and document vital signs, intake/output, daily weights, and other patient data.
  • Independently carry out advanced care tasks such as: Arterial sheath removal, Bladder scanning, Foley catheter insertion/removal, Arterial blood draws and ACT testing, IV insertion, site care, and removal (peripheral), Telemetry monitoring and interpretation, 12-lead EKGs and phlebotomy.
  • Monitor patient status and promptly report changes or concerns to the RN.
  • Assist with admissions, discharges, post-mortem care, and patient transport.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record.
