About The Position

Baylor Scott & White Health is seeking a BC or BE Cardiac Anesthesiologist to join their team at Baylor Scott & White Medical Center- Temple, Texas. This role involves practicing cardiac and general anesthesiology, including neuro, OB, thoracic, and regional anesthesia, with no pediatric cases. The anesthesiologist will join a large, established team of anesthesiologists, residents, cardiac anesthesiology fellows, and CRNAs, working within a mixed anesthesia care team/solo staffing model. The work schedule is Monday-Friday with equally rotated weekend and evening call, averaging one cardiac call per week (home call). Cardiac cases include Heart Transplantation, LVAD, ECMO, TAVR, Mitraclip, CABG (including OPCAB), and valves. Occasional coverage may be provided at an affiliated hospital 30 minutes away in Waco. Baylor Scott & White Medical Center-Temple is a 636-bed acute care Level I trauma center and an academic site for Baylor College of Medicine-Temple. Requirements

  • BC or BE Cardiac Anesthesiologist
  • Advanced TEE certification required
  • Doctorate Degree in Medicine
  • Licensed to Practice Medicine in the state of Texas by the Texas Medical Board
  • Board certified in his or her specialty or demonstrate active pursuit of board certification

Responsibilities

  • Practice cardiac and general anesthesiology, to include neuro, OB, thoracic, and regional anesthesia.
  • Participate in a mixed anesthesia care team/solo staffing model.
  • Provide cardiac anesthesia coverage for cases including Heart Transplantation, LVAD, ECMO, TAVR, Mitraclip, CABG (including OPCAB), and valves.
  • Provide occasional cardiac anesthesia coverage at Baylor Scott & White Medical Center-Waco.
  • Share weekend and evening call duties equally with the team.
