About The Position

Responsible for the daily functions of the Room Service Department. This role involves taking food and beverage orders over the phone, processing them through the hotel’s POS system, closing checks, and completing reports. The Captain/Sales Associate will accept cash payments, oversee deliveries, ensure prompt service according to hotel standards, and check food and beverage orders. Additionally, they will take dining reservations, be knowledgeable about menus, entertainment, and operating hours, and make suggestions to increase hotel sales and upsell products. This position also requires notifying supervisors of any concerns and directing waitstaff to ensure orders are set up correctly. The role also includes keeping the work area clean, stocking supplies, assisting waitstaff, and recommending resort facilities to guests.

Responsibilities

Responsible for the daily functions of the Room Service Department.
Take food and beverage orders over the phone and process the orders through the hotel’s POS system.
Close checks and complete reports as required.
Accept cash payment for room service and dining outlets.
Assign and oversee room service and amenity deliveries and other tasks directed to waithelp.
Insure prompt service according to hotel standards.
Check food and beverage orders being delivered.
Take dining reservations for all restaurants and is knowledgeable in the menus, entertainment and hours of operation.
Make suggestion to increase hotel sales and upsell products.
Notify supervisor of any concerns during the shift.
Direct waithelp to ensure orders are set-up completely & according to standards.
Answer phone, greeting the guests in a warm and friendly manner, personalizing the service.
Upsell or do suggestive selling.
Responsible for a bank, accept cash, room charge and credit card payment for room service and dining outlets.
Familiar with restaurant hours, menu and entertainment.
Knowledgeable of the room service food and wine menu.
Consistently perform tasks as specified on sequence of service standards and SOPs.
Notify manager or any problems.
Oversee room service operation.
Perform other related duties as assigned or required.
Keep room service and surrounding area clean and orderly.
Pick-up and stock linen and other supplies.
Assist waithelp if needed.
Recommend the resort’s restaurants and facilities to guests.
