About The Position

Join King County Wastewater as a Capital Programs Learning & Development Specialist, where you'll play a vital role in preparing our workforce and elevating project excellence across the Division. This recruitment aims to fill a Term-Limited Temporary (TLT) position with an anticipated duration of 3 years. If the position is filled by a King County employee who has successfully completed their initial probation, they will be offered the role as a Special Duty Assignment. As WTD’s Capital Programs Learning & Development Specialist, you'll prepare Wastewater's workforce by building and supporting training programs that elevate project excellence and foster continuous learning. You'll play a vital role in ensuring capital project staff have the knowledge, preparation, and skills they need to succeed. Through engaging training delivery, thoughtful program coordination, and facilitating knowledge sharing, you'll help create a culture where learning is valued, teams continuously improve, and the quality, cadence, and equity of capital delivery is optimized. Your work will directly impact workforce readiness, project outcomes, and organizational capability across the Wastewater capital program. This position follows a hybrid work model, blending remote and in-person work.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated experience coordinating training programs, workshops, or learning initiatives
  • Demonstrated experience developing training programs, workshops, or learning initiatives
  • Experience with group facilitation
  • Strong organizational and project coordination skills with attention to detail
  • Ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams and interested parties

Responsibilities

  • Support design and delivery of tailored training programs for Wastewater capital project staff to support skill development and workforce readiness
  • Support development of engaging training materials and learning resources that make complex information accessible
  • Coordinate training and lessons learned program logistics, manage scheduling, track participation, and assess program effectiveness
  • Help institutionalize learning by documenting and sharing insights from project successes and challenges
  • Organize and facilitate training knowledge-sharing sessions that capture and distribute expertise across teams
