The Capital Markets Intern will assist in work on the critical functions of raising capital and ongoing investor relations for multifamily real estate development and acquisition projects. The Capital Markets team at Milhaus is responsible for securing the funding needed for our projects via sourcing of equity investors and debt financing from banks and other lenders. As a $1.5 billion owner, operator and manager of multifamily real estate, we work with a roster of over 300 investors spanning institutional and high net worth channels.

Requirements

  • Pursuing a bachelors or masters degree; or demonstrated interest and experience with commercial real estate
  • Knowledge (Intermediate to advanced) of various operating systems, software products (e.g. MS Office, etc.), is required.
  • Ability to work independently and efficiently manage time / workload.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret financial reports, business, professional, legal and technical documents.
  • Ability to effectively respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers and staff.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Ability to write presentations, articles, routine reports, proposals, and correspondence.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from management and staff.
  • Ability to speak and communicate effectively before customers and staff.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and tactfully

Responsibilities

  • Participates in essential functions related to communications, research and analysis related to capitalizing real estate projects with debt and equity partners
  • Assist with database management and investor/lender communication efforts
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to coordinate and organize documents and models across projects
  • Participate in building reporting templates and checklists
  • Develop client presentation decks
  • Assist in periodic investor reporting and one-off investor requests
  • Ad hoc research and analysis pertaining to prospecting for new investor and lender relationships
