About The Position

The Capabilities Director is part of Amca’s Corporate Development team and sits at the center of the company’s acquisition and growth strategy. The role supplies rigorous commercial diligence on acquisitions, researches companies and capabilities Amca should acquire or build, and supports post-close value creation. It calls for someone who can move between deal analysis, market research, and operational execution in a broad, high-stakes environment. The position reports directly to Matt Soulas, CFO, and works frequently with the executive team, engineering and operations leadership, and general managers across Amca’s portfolio. The successful candidate combines analytical ability with operational aptitude, and can connect commercial analyses to operational realities to produce actionable recommendations. The role develops expertise in the aerospace and defense supply chain, including part families, manufacturing processes, customer structures, and program economics. It communicates findings to senior leadership through clear written analyses, market assessments, and investment memos that support decision-making. The position requires use of information subject to ITAR. Applicants must be U.S. persons under ITAR: U.S. citizens, U.S. permanent residents, or individuals with protected-person status under 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3).

  • Strong commercial instincts and understanding of customer relationships, contract structures, and revenue quality in industrial and aerospace businesses.
  • Ability to move between deal work and operational support, including diligence and helping general managers address commercial problems post-close.
  • Ability to execute tactically and develop strategies for complex, cross-functional problems while producing rigorous, high-quality work quickly.
  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills; able to present grounded arguments and distill complex analyses into executive-ready outputs.
