About The Position

The Canteen Operator supports the Military's Quality of Life programs through the Morale, Welfare, and Recreation (MWR) department of Commander, Navy Installations Command (CNIC). The position is assigned to Non-Appropriated Fund (NAF) Food and Beverage; Fleet Readiness; CNIC; NBK Bremerton - PSNS.

The operator provides mobile snack bar service to military and civilian personnel without access to a food service facility. The role operates a mobile canteen unit, sells fast food and a limited variety of retail items, loads food and beverages, and follows established routes and schedules. The operator also serves customers, handles cash, maintains stock and records, and performs related duties as assigned.

Requirements

• A valid driver's license is required.
• At least one year of experience demonstrating the ability to perform the work of the position.
• Knowledge and understanding of food service policies and procedures.
• Basic knowledge of business mathematics and cash handling.

Responsibilities

• Operate a mobile canteen unit and sell fast food and a limited variety of retail items, such as cigarettes, gum, and candy.
• Load the canteen truck with food and beverages.
• Drive to various locations on established routes and schedules, ensuring scheduled stops are made on time.
• Observe safety and traffic requirements and regulations.
• Prepare requisitions for supplies, equipment, daily resale items, and consumable items as needed.
• Keep supplies neatly displayed and stowed, and maintain adequate stock.
• Maintain inventory and operating records and required reports.
• Serve customers, collect money, make change, and be responsible for the change fund.
• Prepare the Daily Salesperson's Cash Report.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
