Candy Packaging General Labor DAY SHIFT
About The Position
Elmer Chocolate is hiring a Candy Packaging General Labor associate for its Ponchatoula factory, where automated robotic machinery makes chocolate. Associates place trays and lids on an assembly line and box displays for store shelves. The work environment has air conditioning and offers the opportunity to work alongside fellow associates amid the smell of caramel and sugar. The typical schedule is Monday through Thursday, 5 a.m. to 3 p.m., with alternating Fridays for approximately four hours of cleaning. The position pays $13 per hour as a base rate, with a $2-per-hour perfect-attendance premium, for a stated total of $13–$15 per hour. Weekly pay and opportunities for advancement are offered.
Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Must pass drug screen(s).
- Reliable transportation.
- Dependable attendance.
- Ability to follow instructions.
- Ability to work overtime and weekends if needed.
- Ability to stand and walk for 10 hours.
- Ability to stoop, bend, reach, use force, carry, push or pull, and occasionally lift less than 50 pounds.
- Ability to apply manual dexterity and specified visual acuity.
