The Worship Pastor is responsible for leading and developing the worship ministry at Bayou City Fellowship’s Cypress Campus. This role provides pastoral, musical, and organizational leadership to create worship environments that are Christ-centered, biblically grounded, culturally relevant, and meaningful. The Worship Pastor will recruit, develop, disciple, and lead worship staff and volunteers while overseeing the planning and execution of weekly worship services and other campus events. This role partners closely with the Lead Campus Pastor and campus staff to support the mission and vision of Bayou City Fellowship. The Worship Pastor is expected to model a growing relationship with Jesus, a life of prayer and integrity, biblical faithfulness, humility, and dependence on the Holy Spirit. The Worship Pastor is committed to helping Bayou City Fellowship become a people who treasure Jesus above all else. Worship ministry should point people to the gospel, faithfully communicate the truth of Scripture, cultivate prayer and discipleship, and create space for people to respond to God in authentic worship. The Worship Pastor should lead from a posture of dependence on the Holy Spirit, recognizing that worship ministry is ultimately about making much of Jesus—not building a platform, pursuing trends, or elevating talent.
