About The Position

Parkview Christian Church is seeking a Worship Pastor/Director to lead its worship mission across three campuses on Chicago’s south side. The role shapes a worship culture that reaches people far from Jesus, forms the people already involved in the church, and develops leaders who carry that calling into their communities. The position combines platform leadership with pastoral care, team development, and broader church leadership. It serves on Parkview’s Lead Team, gives direction to the church’s worship expression, oversees the Worship Department, and manages several direct reports. The successful candidate will set a compelling vision for worship that resonates with the south side community and reaches the next generation. They will lead and disciple Worship Staff, build a strong volunteer leadership culture, and develop volunteers through recruiting, coaching, and meaningful ownership. The role treats worship-team development as both spiritual formation and outreach, and calls for a relational, people-first leader who collaborates with other Staff Leaders and helps plan experiences that grow the church’s expressive lifestyle of worship. The role also requires a love for the south side of Chicago, a learner’s mindset, and the ability to guide worship across Parkview’s three current campuses and toward future campuses. The pastor serves as a commissioned pastor at Parkview Christian Church, in accordance with Parkview’s Commissioning Policy, and performs sacerdotal functions as needed.

Requirements

A pastoral calling and heart, with willingness to serve as a commissioned pastor under Parkview’s Commissioning Policy and perform sacerdotal functions as needed.
A relational, people-first leadership approach and genuine enjoyment of being around people.
Ability to develop leaders through relationship, coaching, and equipping.
Theological discernment and fluency in doctrinal worship and personal-journey worship.
A learner’s mindset and a love for the south side of Chicago community and culture.
Ability to set vision and lead worship across multiple campuses.
A collaborative approach to working with other Staff Leaders.

Responsibilities

Lead and shape Parkview’s worship culture and expression across its three campuses.
Set a forward-looking worship vision that reaches the next generation and resonates with the south side community and people far from Jesus.
Use theological discernment to guide the balance between doctrinal worship and personal-journey worship.
Oversee the Worship Department and manage several direct reports.
Lead, disciple, coach, equip, and provide direction to Worship Staff, supporting their personal, spiritual, and leadership growth.
Build teams by recruiting, developing, discipling, and empowering volunteers, shifting from a paid, gig-based model toward a strong volunteer leadership culture.
Release volunteers into meaningful ownership, leadership, and impact in their communities.
Develop worship volunteers as part of both spiritual formation within the church and outreach beyond it.
Foster an encouraging, inspiring, and growth-oriented culture among the worship team and broader staff.
Build worship’s future across current campuses and in preparation for potential future campuses.
Collaborate with other Staff Leaders to plan and execute experiences that grow Parkview’s community in an expressive lifestyle of worship.
Serve as a commissioned pastor at Parkview Christian Church and perform sacerdotal functions as needed.
