About The Position

The Citadel, The Military College of South Carolina, is accepting applications for a Campus Support Technician in the Department of Information and Technology Services. This position is a key member of the ITS team responsible for delivering advanced technical support to faculty, staff, and students across campus.

Requirements

  • Associate degree in computer science or a related field and two (2) years of relevant experience; or high school diploma or equivalent and four (4) years of experience in computer systems support, troubleshooting, or maintenance.
  • Proficiency in supporting Windows operating systems and related hardware.
  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and maintain professionalism in a diverse academic environment.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Valid South Carolina driver’s license required; must be able to drive a van and golf cart.
  • Availability to support after-hours and weekend events as needed.

Nice To Haves

  • CompTIA certifications: A+, Network+, or Security+.
  • Dell Certified DOSD.
  • Bachelor’s degree with related experience.
  • Prior experience supporting AV and sound systems for live events or large-scale presentations.
  • Experience with livestreaming, video conferencing, event production technologies, or classroom instructional technologies.
  • CTS certification or equivalent AV experience preferred.
  • Familiarity with Crestron, Extron, Zoom Rooms, Microsoft Teams Rooms, or similar AV control and conferencing platforms.

Responsibilities

  • Tier 3 technical support through The Citadel’s IT ticketing system.
  • Installation, configuration, maintenance, and repair of Windows and macOS computers, printers, scanners, and associated technologies.
  • Advanced classroom technology support including projectors, AV control systems, conferencing equipment, and instructional technologies.
  • Sound and audiovisual support for classroom instruction and campus events such as graduation, ceremonies, guest lectures, and official functions.
  • Setup, operation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of microphones, speakers, livestreaming equipment, projection systems, and video distribution systems.
  • On-site troubleshooting, diagnostics, and repair of computer systems, peripherals, and classroom technologies.
  • Software installation, system configuration, and data migration services.
  • Faculty, staff, and student training on supported computing and classroom technologies.
  • Coordination with event staff, faculty, and campus departments to ensure successful delivery of technical and AV services.
  • Documentation of service activities, asset management, and maintenance of accurate support records.
