About The Position

The Pomona Campus Pastor at Patria Church is responsible for providing pastoral and leadership oversight to the assigned location. This role requires a full understanding of Patria Church’s ministries, policies, and procedures to effectively embody the church’s culture. The incumbent will oversee campus ministries as directed by the Campus Operations Pastor, understanding the critical relational connection between Patria Church Headquarters and all campuses. The position involves a high degree of pastoral ministry, including meetings, counseling, discipleship, and mentoring, serving as a primary pastoral contact for the congregation. The Campus Pastor reports directly to the Campus Operations Pastor and the Campus Leadership and Discipleship Executive. Requirements

  • Successfully completes all required background checks and pre-employment screenings.
  • Demonstrates reliability, punctuality, and consistent attendance.
  • Reads, writes, spells, and communicates clearly in English.
  • Demonstrates basic computer skills and the ability to use communication and scheduling systems.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Biblical Studies, Ministry, Leadership, or a related field preferred, or equivalent ministry training and experience.
  • Minimum of 3–5 years of progressive pastoral ministry experience, including preaching, pastoral care, and congregational leadership.
  • Demonstrated experience leading teams and volunteers in a multi-ministry, service-based environment (weekend services, discipleship pathways, outreach, and events).
  • Proven ability to lead within a multi-site or campus model, including partnership with central leadership and alignment to shared ministry standards.
  • Experience developing and coaching leaders, building a volunteer pipeline, and creating healthy team rhythms.
  • Experience with pastoral care processes (counseling intake, care follow-up, confidentiality practices, and documentation standards).
  • Working knowledge of church operations, including service planning, guest assimilation, basic budget oversight, and ministry reporting practices.
  • Ability to shepherd a congregation with warmth, clarity, and spiritual maturity through preaching, prayer, counseling, discipleship, and presence in critical life moments.
  • Strong understanding of how to translate church-wide mission, values, and strategy into campus-level ministry execution with consistency and unity.
  • Skilled in stage communication, teaching in various environments, and adapting messages with discernment, clarity, and sensitivity to audience needs.
  • Knowledge of next-step systems (first-time guests to engagement, serving, groups, discipleship milestones) and how to lead teams that sustain them.
  • Discerns priorities in fast-paced ministry environments, navigates sensitive situations appropriately, and escalates concerns when necessary.
  • Handles tension with humility and clarity, facilitates healthy conversations, and protects unity while addressing issues directly and biblically.
  • Maintains a steady presence through weekends, holidays, special events, and seasonal ministry demands; adapts quickly when plans shift.
  • Models and reinforces a Christ-centered team culture that reflects Patria’s values through integrity, consistency, and servant leadership.
  • Always demonstrate Christ-centered behavior by treating people with dignity, respect, compassion, and integrity.
  • Member of the Patria Church (or willing to transfer membership to Patria Church).
  • Pastors are required to attend all regularly scheduled Sunday and Wednesday church services.
  • Support staff must attend at least one (1) regularly scheduled weekend church service.
  • Attendance at all mandatory meetings and events, including serving at Good Friday, Easter, and Christmas services as well as the annual volunteer appreciation event.
  • Regular involvement in Patria Church activities, ministries, neighborhood groups, and events.
  • Tithe 10% to the Patria Church.
  • Demonstrate full alignment with Patria Church’s Statement of Faith and core beliefs.
  • Ability to interpret and adhere to Patria Church’s policies, procedures, and employee handbook.
  • Be self-motivated and goal oriented, use good judgment, and be flexible and innovative.

Responsibilities

  • Fosters faith, worship, and belonging across every ministry and campus.

  • Embraces and executes a Neighborhood Groups philosophy of ministry, fostering community, discipleship, and connection across families and campuses.
  • Pastoral Responsibilities: Responsible for stage communication for facilitation of services (exhortation, communion, announcements, offering, altar call, etc.). Responsible for pastoral care functions (Weddings, Funerals, Hospital Visits, Baby Dedications, Baptisms, etc.). Oversees and executes counseling process for members and attendees, ensuring timely intake, confidentiality, and quality note-taking. Responsible for preaching when there are technical difficulties and/or assigned by leadership. Responsible to market, oversee, and multiply Neighborhood Groups.
  • Teaches and leads in small and large group settings.
  • Other pastoral duties as assigned by Patria Church HQ.
  • Operations and Administration: Implements and oversees ministry leaders and teams (Dream Team, Production, Worship, Patria Kids, Patria Youth, Safety & Security, social media, Outreach, etc.). Creates healthy rhythms of meeting schedules with leaders and teams for cascading vision, strategy, and support. Oversees assimilation process for assigned location, ensuring flow of next steps for first-time visitors to volunteers. Oversees logistics to ensure campus facility is prepared for services and events. Coordinates with Patria Church HQ for special services (Easter, Christmas, Mother’s Day, etc.). Ensures timely completion of timecard approvals for assigned staff. Develops and manages operational budgets for the campus and events. Ensures all necessary reporting data is updated weekly (Fellowship One head-counts, first-time visitors, Growth Track, Baptism, etc.). Provides weekly status updates and reporting for campus to senior leadership. Ensures adequate inventory levels of service materials. Responsible for campus responsiveness to calls and emails within a 24-48 hour timeframe.
  • Outreach: Develops and maintains community relationships with key influencers and organizations. Finds opportunities to serve the needs of the community on an ongoing basis. Attends and participates in citywide events. Oversees operations and budget of Generosity Center if at assigned location.
  • Leadership Development: Leads, administrates, and empowers campus staff and volunteers for the development of future leaders. Implements and oversees operational development and growth for the assigned campus. Collaborates with Patria Church HQ leadership to continually improve processes and procedures. Builds a leadership pipeline of potential future leaders for campus roles. Builds relationships with top givers of the assigned campus.
