Campus Fiber Infrastructure Construction Monitor, Data Centers

AECOM•Houston, TX
•$75,000 - $83,000•Onsite

About The Position

AECOM is seeking a Campus Fiber Infrastructure Construction Monitor to support construction of mission-critical data center campus fiber and telecommunications infrastructure in Texas. This experienced, field-based construction professional serves as AECOM's on-site representative and documents whether observed work is consistent with approved drawings, project requirements, applicable construction standards, and established quality requirements. The role works in an active construction environment and coordinates with construction managers, general contractors, subcontractors, fiber teams, and technical teams while maintaining accurate and objective field documentation. The position monitors civil and telecommunications infrastructure construction, including underground conduit systems, duct banks, manholes, handholes, vaults, points of entry, and related campus fiber infrastructure. The monitor reviews construction drawings and relevant CAD, BIM, and GIS information; compares field conditions with approved documentation; captures location-based records and photographs; and tracks observed issues through resolution. The position prepares field reports, communicates significant quality, schedule, safety, or infrastructure concerns, and supports project closeout and verification of completed infrastructure. The Construction Monitor documents observed conditions and may provide recommendations based on those observations. Final acceptance of construction remains with the client or another designated project authority. The role does not relieve contractors of responsibility for construction means, methods, sequencing, safety, testing, workmanship, or contractual compliance. This is an on-site position at AECOM's Houston, Texas office, with travel among assigned project locations. Relocation and U.S. employment sponsorship are unavailable. AECOM intends to fill this current vacancy by February 1, 2027. Compensation is $75,000–$83,000 yearly.
