About The Position
Thomas Cuisine is hiring a full-time Campus Cook at Mission College in Santa Clara, California. The cook prepares fresh, scratch-made meals in a high-volume college cafeteria, following recipes, production schedules, and food safety standards. The role supports a collaborative culinary team and helps provide high-quality food and service to cafeteria staff, visitors, and guests. The schedule is Monday through Thursday, 11 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. Compensation is $22 per hour. The kitchen environment includes exposure to moving mechanical parts, fumes, airborne particles, and moderate noise. Occasional exposure to wet or humid conditions, extreme temperatures, and vibration may occur. The position requires standing for long periods, lifting trays, and performing repetitive tasks. Requirements
- ServSafe® Certification and State Food Handlers Card.
- Ability to pass a criminal background check and drug screen.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Physical stamina to stand for long periods, lift trays, and perform repetitive tasks.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook fresh, scratch-made meals in a high-volume, fast-paced college cafeteria.
- Follow recipes, production schedules, and food safety standards to deliver high-quality menu items.
- Complete daily prep work, inventory rotation, and kitchen cleaning tasks.
- Help ensure excellent food quality, presentation, and service for cafeteria staff, visitors, and guests.
- Support a collaborative culinary team focused on serving great food every day.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
