Campground Ranger
About The Position
ELS is hiring a Campground Ranger in Brooksville, Florida. The role may involve walking or patrolling campground grounds, answering guest questions, enforcing rules, and helping protect the safety of guests and their belongings. The ideal candidate handles stressful situations calmly and responds appropriately with regard to local, state, and federal law. The Ranger monitors and secures the property, checks guest access at the campground gate, addresses rule compliance and concerns, and conducts routine patrols and inspections. Duties also include taking reservations, checking guests in and out, selling day passes and store items, prioritizing guest safety and satisfaction, and providing on-call emergency service as required. Other duties may be assigned.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Basic reading, writing, and math skills, and the ability to use computer applications.
- Ability to thrive in a collaborative team environment.
- Ability to assess situations, use quick and reasonable judgment, and resolve problems diplomatically.
- Exceptional customer service and communication skills, and a friendly demeanor.
- Valid driver’s license, good driving record, and current auto insurance.
- Ability to work weekends and holidays on a regular basis.
Nice To Haves
- Experience working in security and/or law enforcement, and/or working in an RV environment.
Responsibilities
- Monitor the property for issues or potential problems.
- Ensure the property is properly secured.
- Ensure guests comply with resort rules, respond to areas of concern, and contact law enforcement if necessary.
- Monitor incoming guests at the campground gate and validate whether access is acceptable.
- Perform routine patrols and inspect golf carts and rentals.
- Take camping reservations, check guests in and out, and sell day passes and items at the store.
- Prioritize guest safety and happiness.
- Perform on-call emergency service as required.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
