About The Position
This is a summer healthcare internship opportunity for EMTs, nursing students, pre-med students, or healthcare professionals looking to gain real-world experience in on-site medical care and health supervision for youth camps. The role offers hands-on patient care experience in a fast-paced, outdoor environment, building resumes for medical school, nursing programs, or EMT careers. The position features a Monday-Friday schedule with no nights or overnight shifts.
Requirements
- EMTs, nursing students, pre-med students, or healthcare professionals.
- Must be CPR/AED and First Aid certified.
- Strong interest in healthcare, medicine, or patient care.
- Comfortable working independently in a camp setting.
- Candidates must be available to commute to multiple San Diego camp locations.
- Must be available from June 8 – August 14, 2026.
Nice To Haves
- Experience working with children is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Provide first aid and basic medical care to campers and staff.
- Respond to injuries, illnesses, and health-related incidents.
- Manage medications and allergies (including EpiPens).
- Maintain accurate medical and incident reports.
- Communicate with parents regarding health concerns.
- Conduct daily health checks and monitor camper well-being.
- Ensure a safe and proactive health environment.
