About The Position
Mets Baseball & Softball Camps is hiring Camp Nurse / EMT Staff to provide on-site medical care and health supervision for youth summer camps in Brooklyn this summer. This is a unique opportunity for EMTs, nursing students, pre-med students, or healthcare professionals to gain real-world experience in first aid, injury response, and patient care in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. The role is ideal for building resumes for medical school, nursing programs, or EMT careers, offering a Monday-Friday schedule with no nights or overnight shifts.
Requirements
- EMTs, nursing students, pre-med students, or healthcare professionals
- Must be CPR/AED and First Aid certified
- Strong interest in healthcare, medicine, or patient care
- Comfortable working independently in a camp setting
Nice To Haves
- Experience working with children is a plus
- Responsible, calm under pressure, and detail-oriented
Responsibilities
- Provide first aid and basic medical care to campers and staff
- Respond to injuries, illnesses, and health-related incidents
- Manage medications and allergies (including EpiPens)
- Maintain accurate medical and incident records
- Communicate with parents regarding health concerns
- Conduct daily health checks and monitor camper well-being
- Ensure a safe and proactive health environment
