About The Position

The Center for Disability Services is an organization that offers hope, innovation, and achievement to individuals with disabilities, serving as one of upstate New York’s largest providers of programs and services for 80 years. Many of their innovative programs and vital services are not available elsewhere. The Camp Lifeguard position is located at Camp Clover Patch in Glenville, NY, with camp dates from May 30, 2026, to July 17, 2026, including an orientation on May 30, 2026. The Center is committed to empowering individuals to lead full, independent lives, having served over 12,000 people. Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • American Red Cross Lifeguarding
  • CPR for the Professional Rescuer and Standard First Aid

Nice To Haves

  • At least 1 year of job related experience preferred, specifically working with people with developmental disabilities

Responsibilities

  • Actively supervise campers and staff engaged in aquatic activities by visually monitoring the pool area poolside.
  • Organize the pool area during concurrent activities to minimize conflict and promote a positive experience for all participants.
  • Monitor and maintain pool chemical levels each shift in accordance with Center policy and New York State Department of Health standards.
  • Perform pool setup and closing duties in accordance with Center pool policies, and preparing equipment.
  • Clean and maintain pool deck sanitation as directed by Center protocols and in compliance with New York State Department of Health regulations.
  • Inspect all waterfront and pool equipment and report any defects, along with recommended corrective actions, to the supervisor.
