About The Position

The Cake Decorator helps grow community by building guest loyalty and providing personal interactions that create genuine relationships and a brand-aligned guest experience. The role prepares and decorates bakery products for sale, maintains product quality and freshness, and supports bakery operations and guest service. The decorator may also perform bakery clerk functions when requested and other duties assigned by management.

Requirements

Friendly, outgoing personality.
Ability to work well with others.
Ability to lift 25 pounds consistently and 50 pounds occasionally.
Ability to read and understand information and directions.
Effective communication, guest-service, and selling skills.
Must be at least 18 years old.
Ability to bend, kneel, and stand for extended periods.

Responsibilities

Greet and interact with all guests politely and in a friendly manner.
Prepare products for sale by icing, decorating, pricing, packaging, and labeling them.
Maintain product levels, quality, and freshness.
Perform bakery clerk functions when requested.
Maintain sanitation standards in the cooler, freezer, prep area, and sales area.
Clean the work area, couplers, and decorating bags properly.
Keep the freezer organized and rotate products according to variety.
Communicate guest requests to management and temperature breakdowns to a supervisor.
Keep the supply area neat, clean, and tidy.
Rotate icings properly, including reading icing dates, and scrape down buckets.
Use the cake manual and cake production sheet as references.
Write on cakes and mix colors according to the color chart.
Use the airbrush.
Achieve budgeted sales, shrink, and profits for the cake section of the bakery.
Perform other duties assigned by management.
Perform Front Porch duties to maintain the guest-arrival standard.
Announce specials and sale information over the PA system.
Assist with receiving and storing products.
