About The Position

The Cage Cashier serves guests in a friendly, family-style manner while handling check redemptions, chip sales and redemptions, and other negotiable items such as checks, fast cash tickets, and coupons. The role processes transactions, maintains accurate records, and helps ensure compliance with internal controls and applicable regulations. Cashiers may work in multiple areas and must adapt to business needs, including changes to work assignments.

Requirements

Must be at least 21 years old.
Proficient in spoken and written English.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Must be flexible to work various shifts, weekends, and holidays.
Must qualify for, obtain, and maintain an Indiana Gaming Commission gaming license, if applicable.
Access to the vessel is required.

Nice To Haves

9–12 months of cash-handling experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

Verify funds from the recycler, empty and collect its bin, and process funds correctly in the Boat Vault.
Serve guests in a friendly manner.
Arrive on time and be ready to relieve cashiers within 5–7 minutes of punching in.
Verify banks, including the Main Bank, Boat Vault, Chip/Marker Bank, and cashier window; open and close banks independently.
Verify and tabulate JDU and Food & Beverage paperwork, and accurately enter figures into the computer.
Pull BVD boxes, place tickets into NRT machines, and run BVD boxes.
Work in multiple areas and adapt to changing assignments based on business needs.
Count the drawer at the start of the shift, verify the cash amount, and document it according to procedure.
Issue chips and cash gaming instruments to customers in exchange for cash.
Issue markers to customers and receive marker payments.
Send paid markers to the bank.
Redeem complimentary checks according to standard procedures.
Redeem chips and tokens for cash at guests’ request.
Process credit card and check transactions according to standard procedures.
Verify and process soft count drops for Cage supplement purposes.
Prepare bank deposits.
Balance the drawer at the end of the shift.
Perform other duties as assigned.
