About The Position

The Dealer Trainee learns poker games and customer service skills in accordance with established policies and procedures. The role involves learning to open an assigned table, count and verify its contents against the closing list, inspect cards or dice, and obtain supervisor sign-off. The trainee also learns to deal table games and/or live poker, pay out winnings, exchange currency for chips, and explain game rules to guests. Other duties may be assigned.

Requirements

• Must be at least 21 years old.
• Proficient in spoken and written English.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Must be flexible to work various shifts, weekends, and holidays.
• Must qualify for, obtain, and maintain an Indiana Gaming Commission gaming license, if applicable.
• Must have access to the vessel.
• Must be able to interact professionally with guests.
• Must tolerate a fast-paced, high-pressure environment, large crowds and high traffic, temperature variations, bright or flashing lights, and a loud environment.
• Must be able to communicate in a loud environment and work in a smoking environment.
• Must be able to work seated or standing for extended periods.
• Must be able to lift, carry, and push objects up to 25 pounds.
• Must be able to stoop, bend, twist, stretch, turn, push, pull, and grasp repetitively.
• Must have visual acuity to distinguish colors, shapes, and similar details.

Responsibilities

• Learn to open an assigned game table, count its contents, verify the count against the closing list, inspect cards or dice, and sign off with a supervisor.
• Learn to deal table games and/or live poker.
• Pay out winnings and exchange currency for chips.
• Inform guests of game rules.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
