About The Position

The Barista sells and prepares Starbucks coffee beverages according to Starbucks standards, providing caring hospitality and exceptional customer service through product knowledge. The role includes working across coffee and pastry stations, preparing and presenting products to recipe and speed-of-service standards, maintaining a clean and compliant work area, and supporting store operations and customer experience. Schedules include weekend shifts; hours depend on business needs and colleague availability. The position is seasonal.

Requirements

Ability to read and interpret instructional documents, including safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedural manuals.
Ability to work a flexible schedule with retail hours, including day, evening, weekend, and/or holiday shifts.
Ability to stand and walk for prolonged periods; reach, crouch, kneel, and stoop; use computers and other technology, including handheld equipment and cash registers; process register transactions; and frequently lift or move up to 25 pounds.

Nice To Haves

1–2 years of related experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Demonstrate working knowledge of drip coffee, cold beverages, the espresso bar, and pastry stations.
Follow company standards and maintain the work area and equipment in accordance with Health Department standards.
Follow Starbucks Simple Service Steps and Magic Selling skills to provide an exceptional customer experience.
Educate customers about, sample, and serve food and beverage products.
Follow station-specific duties and responsibilities.
Open and/or close the area using the appropriate checklist and verify completion with the Manager on Duty before leaving.
Maintain PAR stock levels and product presentation standards.
Prepare and present products according to Starbucks recipes while meeting speed-of-service standards.
Follow Starbucks merchandising and signing standards.
Maintain personal hygiene and professional dress in accordance with company, Starbucks, and Health Department standards.
Perform other duties as needed.
