About The Position

The Cafe Associate works in Sam’s Club’s cafe, preparing and serving food while supporting a welcoming, fast-paced, high-volume environment and delivering a positive member experience. The role includes preparing food according to item specifications and production needs, monitoring freshness and food safety, stocking and rotating merchandise, and keeping the cafe clean and ready for members. As a founding associate at the new Baytown club, the employee will help establish the member experience and contribute to the club’s service culture.

Requirements

Must be 18 years of age or older.
Complete all job-required trainings and assessments within the prescribed time period if hired.
Passion for food preparation and customer service.
Ability to follow food safety and cleanliness standards.
Ability to multitask and stay organized while handling multiple responsibilities.
Ability to adapt quickly to changing business needs.
Availability for flexible scheduling, including weekends and holidays.
Positive attitude and strong work ethic.

Nice To Haves

Food Safety Certification.
Food Service Food Handler Certification (Food Safety).

Responsibilities

Prepare food according to item specifications, planning for daily production, mass production, and seasonality.
Follow food safety standards, sanitation guidelines, Cold Chain compliance, and inventory management practices.
Stock and rotate merchandise, maintain quality and date controls, and reduce waste.
Use handheld technology to make real-time decisions about production, ordering, and product quality.
Assist members with purchasing decisions, payment types, locating merchandise, and resolving issues.
Support receipt of club pick-up orders and stock displays using appropriate containers and packaging.
Keep the cafe area clean, sanitized, and ready for members.
Operate, maintain, and sanitize equipment safely and effectively.
