About The Position

raSmith is hiring a student for a summer 2027 internship in its Municipal Services Division, based at the firm's downtown Appleton, Wisconsin office. The internship offers practical engineering experience and on-the-job training on real projects, with guidance from experienced project managers, engineers, and technicians. Interns will have opportunities to develop technical skills and problem-solving abilities while assisting with municipal infrastructure and surveying-related work.

Requirements

• Currently pursuing a degree or technical diploma in Civil Engineering Technology, Surveying Technology, CAD Drafting, or a related field.
• Ability to interpret and process survey field data and apply it within CAD software.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet project deadlines.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills.

Nice To Haves

• Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D.

Responsibilities

• Process survey field data and import information into AutoCAD Civil 3D.
• Create and edit CAD drawings for municipal infrastructure projects.
• Develop and maintain linework, surfaces, and existing conditions drawings.
• Prepare exhibits, plan sheets, and supporting documentation for engineering projects.
• Assist engineers and surveyors with drafting and data management tasks.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
