About The Position

At Davis, Bowen & Friedel, Inc. (DBF), CAD Technicians support the production of infrastructure designs that enhance, maintain, and protect communities. The position assists departments across the firm with the design, drafting, and development of construction drawings for infrastructure and residential projects, including water, wastewater, stormwater, and streets. Proficiency in AutoCAD is required. The role is in-person only; remote and hybrid work are not available. The position offers opportunities for promotion based on the firm's needs.

Requirements

High-school diploma or GED.
Proficiency in AutoCAD.
Attention to detail.
Ability to innovate and develop creative solutions within the built environment.
Ability to communicate ideas clearly, listen actively, and ask appropriate questions.
Ability to solve problems and make sound decisions.

Nice To Haves

General knowledge of basic site design, including grading, drainage, and erosion control design.
Two years of direct work using Carlson Precision 3D or Civil 3D and preparing construction drawings; preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

Use design software to accurately render and communicate designs, plans, and related systems and structures.
Perform analyses and calculations according to project requirements.
Coordinate with engineers and surveyors regarding model accuracy, drafting standards, and design documentation.
Prepare project documentation for client submittal.
Use feedback to modify existing designs and develop solutions.
Provide timely technical assistance.
Handle multiple projects and tasks simultaneously.
