About The Position

24-MAG LLC is recruiting experienced CAD professionals for a specialised, part-time independent contractor consulting engagement supporting an advanced AI training and technical evaluation project. The role involves reviewing AI-generated manufacturing content, evaluating workflow recommendations, and applying practical CAD expertise to assess technical accuracy, efficiency, and quality. Candidates should have hands-on experience with a professional CAD platform and practical understanding of CAD modelling and manufacturing workflows. Relevant tools include Fusion 360, AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Onshape, Inventor, CATIA, Creo, FreeCAD, or comparable systems. No prior AI experience is required. The work also covers CAM, CNC machining, digital manufacturing, manufacturability, and production considerations where applicable. Contractors will develop and validate evaluation rubrics, apply standards consistently, document their reasoning, and help refine project quality standards and technical benchmarks. The engagement is fully remote and open worldwide, with an expected commitment of approximately 15–20 hours per week and a fully flexible schedule that can accommodate evenings or weekends. Compensation is $80–$130 per hour and is output-based, with payment for tasks that meet project specifications. Minimum weekly submission requirements apply. The selection process may include screening questions, an approximately 30-minute AI interview, and hiring-manager review. Selected professionals should be prepared to begin their first tasks within approximately 24–48 hours after onboarding; roles are typically filled within approximately 48 hours. Work must not use confidential or proprietary information belonging to an employer, client, institution, or other third party.

Requirements

  • Hands-on experience with at least one professional CAD platform.
  • Strong practical understanding of CAD modelling and manufacturing workflows.
  • Ability to assess manufacturing-process accuracy, efficiency, and practical feasibility.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with emphasis on clarity and technical detail.
  • No prior experience in AI training is required.
  • Work must be completed without using confidential or proprietary information belonging to any employer, client, institution, or other third party.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Autodesk tools, particularly Fusion 360 or AutoCAD.
  • Background in CAM, CNC machining, or digital manufacturing.
  • Python proficiency.
  • Familiarity with AI tools, generative design, or AI-assisted engineering workflows.
  • Experience developing or applying technical evaluation rubrics.

Responsibilities

  • Apply hands-on CAD expertise to manufacturing and engineering workflow scenarios.
  • Review manufacturing processes, modelling approaches, and technical recommendations.
  • Assess whether proposed workflows are practical, efficient, and technically sound; identify unrealistic assumptions, process gaps, and weak manufacturing logic.
  • Review AI-generated content related to CAD and manufacturing workflows for technical accuracy, usability, and real-world applicability.
  • Identify incorrect, incomplete, or inefficient process guidance and refine technical content where necessary.
  • Use professional judgement to evaluate ambiguous or context-dependent outputs.
  • Evaluate CAM, CNC machining, and digital manufacturing workflows where applicable, including process decisions from design through production.
  • Assess practical considerations involving machining, fabrication, and manufacturability, and identify workflow inefficiencies or technical constraints that could affect production outcomes.
  • Provide clear reasoning behind manufacturing-process recommendations.
  • Develop and validate detailed rubrics for evaluating manufacturing-process quality, including criteria for technical accuracy, efficiency, and workflow suitability.
  • Apply evaluation standards consistently, document reasoning and assessment criteria clearly, and contribute to refining project quality standards and technical benchmarks.
