About The Position

The Cashier is the face of the store and provides exceptional customer service to create a positive shopping experience. The role includes greeting customers, assisting them, handling point-of-sale transactions, and supporting retail sales. The cashier helps maintain the store’s appearance, cleanliness, and organization, stocks and cleans the store, and maintains the gas pumps and exterior. The position requires multitasking, effective communication, composure in a fast-paced environment, teamwork, and flexible availability for evenings, weekends, and holidays on a rotational basis. The role has no supervisory responsibilities.

• Ability to read and interpret English-language documents, including safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to read and communicate verbally in English; written English communication may also be required.
• Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out written, oral, or diagram-based instructions and deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
• Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 45 lbs.
• Ability to stand, stoop, lift, wipe, reach, and type without assistance from others.

• Previous point-of-sale experience, retail sales experience, gas station attendant experience, or customer service experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional customer service and greet all customers.
• Maintain the store’s appearance, ensuring it is clean, neat, organized, and welcoming.
• Process accurate customer transactions using the point-of-sale system.
• Stock and clean the store.
• Maintain the cleanliness and management of the gas pumps and the exterior of the store.
