About The Position

The C, C++ Developer will design, develop, and deploy software, including AI-powered products, intelligent agents, and agentic workflows using large language models, retrieval systems, orchestration frameworks, tool-calling patterns, and context-aware workflows. The role includes architecting agentic systems with planning, reasoning loops, memory management, grounding, evaluation frameworks, safety mechanisms, and human-in-the-loop controls. The developer will help move AI solutions from proof of concept to production by establishing practices for reliability, observability, performance, security, governance, and cost optimization. The role also involves developing scalable AI applications and developer productivity solutions using modern AI frameworks, SDKs, and orchestration platforms. The position is full-time and located in O'Fallon, Missouri.

Requirements

Programming experience in C or C++.
Experience solving complex challenges.
Experience setting technical direction for a team and mentoring junior engineers.
Experience with automation, including CI/CD.
Experience developing software for Linux operating systems.
Experience working on an Agile team.
Experience in embedded or real-time distributed systems.

Responsibilities

Partner with Product Management to elaborate features, stories, and test strategy for each initiative.
Create technical designs and assign work to developers.
Develop complex stories in C and write unit tests in C++ using Google Test.
Lead code and design reviews as a human quality gate.
Collaborate with other Principals and Leads to define interfaces and interactions between systems.
Advise on implementation strategy for successful deployment.
Implement development process improvements and automation.
Coach and develop junior employees.
Deliver department and external presentations.
Design, develop, and deploy AI-powered products, intelligent agents, and agentic workflows.
Architect and implement advanced agentic systems incorporating planning, reasoning loops, memory management, grounding, evaluation frameworks, safety mechanisms, and human-in-the-loop controls.
Establish best practices for reliability, observability, performance, security, governance, and cost optimization when transitioning AI solutions to production.
Develop scalable AI applications and developer productivity solutions using modern AI frameworks, SDKs, and orchestration platforms.
