Buyer - Miami, FL

SUPPLYONE INC.•Miami, FL
•$50,000 - $60,000

About The Position

SupplyOne is seeking a detail-oriented, analytical, and commercially minded Replenishment Buyer to support inventory planning and purchasing in a fast-paced industrial packaging distribution business. The role maintains appropriate inventory levels across assigned product categories by analyzing demand and inventory positions, managing supplier lead times, and executing replenishment strategies. The Buyer balances product availability and customer service requirements against inventory investment, carrying costs, supplier performance, and profitability, using large data sets to identify trends and exceptions and inform purchasing decisions. The role manages replenishment for assigned product categories, stocking locations, and suppliers; maintains inventory parameters and ERP purchasing data; executes purchase orders; and communicates with suppliers about pricing, availability, lead times, and delivery commitments. The Buyer works with sales, customer service, warehouse operations, finance, and procurement leadership to align inventory decisions with customer demand and business priorities, communicate supply risks, and contribute to continuous improvement. Performance is evaluated using inventory turns, days on hand, fill rate and product availability, excess and obsolete inventory, supplier performance, replenishment accuracy, purchasing cost management, and ERP data accuracy.

Requirements

  • 1–2 years of experience in purchasing, replenishment, inventory planning, supply chain, or a related role.
  • Hands-on experience with ERP systems and purchasing or inventory planning modules.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze inventory data and make sound replenishment decisions.
  • Understanding of inventory management principles, including reorder points, safety stock, lead times, order quantities, and inventory turns.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities.
  • Effective communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently, recognize exceptions, and take ownership of assigned product categories.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in industrial packaging distribution, including corrugated boxes, stretch film, carton sealing tape, protective packaging, or related consumable products.
  • Experience with Power Query, Power BI, or other data analysis and reporting tools.
  • Familiarity with demand forecasting, ABC inventory classification, and inventory optimization techniques.
  • Experience managing multiple suppliers, stocking locations, and product categories with varying lead times.
  • Understanding of inventory carrying costs, working capital, gross margin, and total cost of ownership.
  • Experience improving ERP data quality or developing automated purchasing and inventory reports.

Responsibilities

  • Manage replenishment purchasing for assigned product categories, stocking locations, and supplier portfolios.
  • Analyze sales history, demand trends, open orders, current inventory, backorders, and forecasted demand to determine purchasing requirements.
  • Maintain and optimize minimum and maximum stock levels, reorder points, safety stock, and order quantities.
  • Adjust replenishment strategies for supplier lead times, demand variability, seasonality, minimum order quantities, and purchasing constraints.
  • Identify and mitigate stockouts, excess inventory, obsolete products, and slow-moving inventory.
  • Make purchasing decisions that support customer service levels while controlling working capital.
  • Evaluate opportunities to consolidate purchases, improve order frequency, and optimize freight and purchasing costs.
  • Execute and manage purchase orders in the company’s ERP system.
  • Maintain accurate purchasing and inventory parameters, including lead times, order multiples, minimum order quantities, vendor information, and replenishment settings.
  • Review system-generated replenishment recommendations against demand, inventory availability, supplier constraints, and business requirements; investigate discrepancies with actual purchasing needs.
  • Maintain data integrity and identify opportunities to improve ERP functionality, reporting, and replenishment processes.
  • Partner with internal teams to resolve inventory discrepancies, purchasing errors, and supply availability issues.
  • Use historical purchasing and sales data to support forecasting, inventory planning, and supplier discussions.
  • Communicate with suppliers about pricing, availability, lead times, order confirmations, and delivery commitments.
  • Monitor supplier performance and address late shipments, shortages, and changes in lead times.
  • Identify opportunities to improve purchasing terms, reduce costs, consolidate orders, and improve supplier reliability.
  • Evaluate alternative sourcing options when supply constraints, cost increases, or service issues arise.
  • Maintain supplier communication to support uninterrupted product availability.
  • Work with sales, customer service, warehouse operations, finance, and procurement leadership.
  • Support sales initiatives by aligning inventory strategies with customer demand and business priorities.
  • Coordinate inventory decisions for new products, discontinued items, customer-specific stock, and changing demand patterns.
  • Communicate supply risks and inventory concerns before they affect customer service.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives focused on operational efficiency, inventory productivity, and profitability.
