About The Position

The replenishment buyer’s role with United Refrigeration (URI) is a full-time, in-office position based at URI’s corporate HQ in Northeast Philadelphia. Members of the purchasing team operate within an established structure consisting of multiple buyers and buyers’ assistants under the direction of the purchasing manager. Buyers partner closely with cross-functional groups within URI, including distribution, accounts payable, business unit management, and, most importantly, our customer-facing branch network team. Buyers serve as the primary point of contact for their assigned suppliers, managing day-to-day business relationships and ensuring effective collaboration. Collectively, the purchasing team forms the backbone of URI's supply chain, performing a critical function that directly supports the company's success.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain appropriate stock levels for product lines managed at multiple distribution centers
  • Work collaboratively with business unit leaders to build and maintain relationships with suppliers
  • Incorporate various sales analysis & forecasting models into replenishment strategies and tactics
  • Actively manage product life cycle to ensure profitability and ROI of areas of responsibility
  • Ensure accuracy of product item data and specifications in ERP system, including pricing and product descriptions
  • Identify and assist in resolving discrepancies (shipping qty, cost, etc.) between suppliers and URI
  • Provide purchasing support for the branch network product needs
  • Participate in vendor rebate program negotiations with business unit leadership
  • Contribute to the analysis, negotiation, and execution of seasonal buy opportunities
  • Support business unit lead on promotions, product roll-outs, and planograms, ensuring on-time and consistent supply
  • Evaluate and track multiple vendor metrics, including on-time delivery, fill rate, and product consistency
  • Manage and serve as a mentor to the buyer’s assistant position
  • Communicate professionally via email and phone with branch locations, suppliers, and internal HQ departments
