About The Position
The Buyer is responsible for preparing and submitting RFQ’s (requests for quotations), analyzing proposals, communicating with suppliers, negotiating price/lead time and terms, and coordinating with operations, finance, & sales. The company, Heroux-Devtek, is an international leader in aviation and the world's 3rd largest producer of landing gear, serving civil and military aerospace markets. The Strongsville facility is a center of excellence for the final assembly of landing gear and is responsible for critical machining operations of major commercial and military aircraft programs. The company aims to remain the best value producer of complex landing gear components through a strong focus on the latest technology in manufacturing processes, machining automation, and techniques.
Requirements
- Assoc or Bachelor’s degree
- 3-5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment
- Accuracy and able to pay close attention to detail
- Ability to communicate effectively with suppliers and represent the company in a professional manner
- Good organizational and follow up skills
- Familiarity with AS9100/NADCAP procedures
- Knowledgeable of INCOTERMS and ITAR Regulations (FARs, DFARS).
- Candidates must meet security screening requirements as set out by ITAR directives.

Responsibilities
- Prepare and submit request for quotes.
- Analyze proposals, negotiate best prices and lead time, terms & conditions.
- Confirm, execute all MRP requirements in a timely fashion.
- Prepare purchase orders- ensuring all required documentation accompanies P.O.
- Expediting open purchase orders, ensuring on time delivery is met and updating the ERP system with any delivery changes.
- Building relationships with suppliers and communicating with them regularly.
- Request techniques/manufacturing plans as required from supplier for customer approval.
- Ensure routing, PO, and job subcontract costs all match in the system.
- Ensure routing, lead times, and job subcontract costs all match in the system.
- Weekly review open PO reports.
- Own Monthly Supplier Scorecard Report.
- Generate procurement reports on an as needed basis.
