About The Position

Boyd Thermal by Eaton is seeking a JR Buyer/OSP Coordinator in our Laconia, NH location. This role provides purchasing support to planning for OSP requirements, purchase orders as required to support manufacturing, and Inter-co ordering requirements. The Buyer serves as the interface between Suppliers and Sales/Manufacturing, as well as other support groups, to support business goals. This position also provides back-up support to the Purchasing Supervisor. The job complexity is high, with intense daily functions surrounding the support of OSP and Manufacturing in a fast-paced environment. The role requires the ability to handle multiple opportunities simultaneously, including placing POs, searching for new sources, setting up new vendors, resolving discrepancies with AP, managing ECNs, handling material expedites, and adapting to procedural changes as the business grows. The Buyer is expected to evaluate current procedures and recommend improvements for efficiency and planning.

Responsibilities

Oversee workflow through the OSP area, utilizing WO’s, Oracle, Thru-put (supply/demand, dispatch, buyer report, Open Order report) to ensure timely issuance of OSP PO’s.
Manage PO’s, ensuring confirmation dates are updated and managed based on supplier feedback, and that pricing and quantities are correct to supplier confirmations.
Manage Suppliers, maintaining strong communication regarding confirmation dates, pricing discrepancies, quality issues, and Engineering revision changes. Monitor Supplier OTD % & QC Performance, and work with the Purchasing Supervisor to issue report cards. Collaborate with the QC Manager to issue CAR’s for poor performance.
Provide support for all non-inventory purchasing requirements for the manufacturing facility, adhering to approval level guidelines for authorized personnel and dollar limitations. Provide feedback on confirmations regarding delivery dates, pricing discrepancies, and MOQs.
Manage Inter-co ordering by placing PO’s to sister facilities for production or buy/sell product, using the "Suggested PO" report from Thru-Put and adhering to the "buyer action" date.
Work with gateway work centers (warehouse, receiving, incoming inspection-QC) to ensure quick receipt of materials, resolving discrepancies between ordered demand and delivered quantities.
Be cross-trained to back up the Purchasing Supervisor, ensuring coverage during absences.
Interpret and execute Thruput and Oracle purchasing reports to determine OSP & material requirements. Manage the open purchase report in Oracle in a fast-paced environment.
Promptly relay problems related to delivery, pricing, quality defects, and lead-time discrepancies to the appropriate teams (Planning/Manufacturing, Management, Engineering, QC Manager) and update the system immediately. Update lead-times in Oracle and Thruput as needed.
Assist in clearing incoming overseas cargo through customs by working with the Shipping company/Broker/Global Transportation Manager.
Handle miscellaneous projects.
