About The Position

The Buyer purchases materials and services needed to support and maintain consistent manufacturing output and projects. The role manages commercial relationships with material suppliers and service providers and contributes to inventory control, purchasing planning, and continuous improvement.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in business, Supply Chain Management, or a related technical field, or equivalent demonstrated skills and experience.
Experience in purchasing within manufacturing; RV or trailer manufacturing experience is preferred.
Proficient in using and understanding Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems.
Strong computer skills and working knowledge of Microsoft Office and related software.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Highly motivated self-starter with analytical thinking skills.

Nice To Haves

APICS certification is desired but not required.
Experience with Visual ERP is preferred.
Experience in RV or trailer manufacturing.

Responsibilities

Review requests and communicate with suppliers and operations managers; assess pricing, suitability, and availability, compare specifications, and review alternatives.
Verify purchase requisitions against the master list, clarify unclear items, and recommend alternatives.
Drive continuous improvement efforts to create inventory systems that control costs.
Collect, analyze, and report purchasing planning and controls information and trends to the Regional Purchasing Manager.
Manage inventory accuracy using a cycle count program.
Verify available stock and schedule deliveries to fulfill requests from inventory.
Prepare purchase orders by verifying specifications and prices, and obtain supplier recommendations for substitute items.
Verify received items against orders, resolve shipment errors with suppliers, and forward documentation to authorize payment.
Assist in other areas and perform other duties as needed.
