About The Position

Mucci International Marketing Inc. is seeking a Buyer for an 18-month contract role. The Buyer will be responsible for managing direct and indirect procurement, including MRO, Corrugate, Resin, CAPEX, and Labels. This role involves maintaining strategic relationships with suppliers, tracking purchase orders, analyzing inventory to improve flow and reduce waste, and ensuring efficient inventory control measures. The Buyer will also provide updates on inbound shipments, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and conduct monthly inventory counts and cost-saving reports. Accountability for supplier KPIs and potential completion of other assigned tasks based on skills are also part of the role.

Requirements

  • Completion of Post-Secondary education in business or related field is required
  • At least 1 year of experience in Purchasing/Buyer role
  • Previous experience negotiating contracts with vendors and suppliers is required
  • Previous experience with full-cycle RFQ process is required
  • Intermediate to advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Outlook is required
  • Able to perform daily, weekly and monthly reporting and balancing of pallets and crates to suppliers
  • Reporting of inventory and costing at the end of each month using Microsoft Excel
  • Proven ability to communicate in a clear and concise manner with all levels of the organization

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience in a CPG, Food packaging, or related industry is strongly preferred
  • Working knowledge of Famous software would be an asset

Responsibilities

  • Manage Direct and or Indirect procurement, spend and purchasing, which will include MRO, Corrugate, Resin, CAPEX, and Labels
  • Maintain strategic relationships with key suppliers and vendors
  • Accurately track and monitor all open purchase orders, ensuring pricing, quantity and ship dates are held
  • Analyze inventories to determine how to increase inventory flow, reduce waste and develop appropriate safety stock levels
  • Ensures inventory control measures are performed in an efficient and timely manner
  • Provide regular updates on inbound shipments
  • Work with cross functional teams and assist the Inventory Control team with maintaining proper inventory levels
  • Monthly Inventory counting
  • Monthly reporting on cost save measures
  • Holding suppliers accountable to KPI’s
  • Maybe asked to complete other tasks based on skills and qualifications
