About The Position

Link-Belt Cranes is a global leader in the design, manufacture and sales of mobile cranes. Currently we have a Buyer role open on 1st shift. As a Buyer, one will evaluate Link-Belt production material requirements and place purchase orders with approved suppliers to fulfill requirements. Conduct procurement process to assure material arrives on time to support manufacturing.

Requirements

• High School or GED.
• Minimum of two (2) years related experience in scheduling and or purchasing.

Nice To Haves

• College degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Generate purchase orders from material requirements planning (MRP) or other demand.
• Balance purchase orders with inventory conditions and demand requirements at all times to minimize inventory investment.
• Monitor open purchase orders to meet changing schedule requirements (cancel, defer, expedite, etc).
• Work with receiving department to resolve quantity, purchase order, or part number discrepancies.
• Work with others to gather requested data, e.g. certifications, tracking information, etc. as required.
• Communicate with suppliers to obtain product or service information, such as price, availability, and delivery.
• Maintain procurement records, such as item or service purchased, costs, delivery, product quality or performance, and inventories.
• May expedite delivery of goods to users.
• Other duties and projects as assigned.
