About The Position

OmniCable is seeking a Buyer to join their Supply Chain/Purchasing Department. This role is integral to inventory management, encompassing vendor relations, quoting, purchase order placement, expediting, price negotiations, and collaboration with sales teams. The Buyer will manage the distribution and inventory levels of key product lines nationally, focusing on vendor relationships, price negotiation, order placement, and achieving KPIs like inventory turns and service levels. A key aspect of the role involves proactive inventory management through continuous tracking and analysis of sales trends. Experience in inventory control within a warehouse setting is encouraged.

Requirements

Demonstrated communication skills, both written and verbal
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)

Nice To Haves

Bachelor’s Degree, or combination of education and equivalent work experience
Experience in a Procurement / Purchasing role
In-depth understanding of distribution workplaces
Experience working within an Inventory Management System (IMS) such as Infor, Manhattan, Blue Ridge or SAP

Responsibilities

Execute day-to-day procurement activities to support company-wide inventory management needs
Product system maintenance in Inventory Management System (IMS)
Maintaining Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) reporting to manage inventory to appropriate levels and achieve turns targets
Establish working relationships with existing vendors
Report on key inventory KPI’s
Vendor price negotiation
Develop and implement inventory control procedures and best practices
Collaborate with other functions / departments to ensure all inventory needs are met at each branch location
